Low-cost spay & neuter: what published clinic lists charge
Low-cost spay/neuter clinics, humane societies, and surgical centers publish their prices — and they sit far below full-service averages. On the lists we read in full, a dog spay runs $210–$380 by weight and a cat neuter $75–$120. This page reproduces those lists with their inclusions, because a $210 price that excludes bloodwork and a $458 package that includes it are not the same product.

How to read a low-cost list
Check the inclusions before the total. The lists above variously include or exclude the pre-surgical exam, bloodwork, IV fluids, take-home pain medication, and the e-collar. Check the weight and age bands — a quote for a 25 lb puppy does not survive contact with a 90 lb adult dog. Check the surcharges — in-heat, pregnancy, obesity, and cryptorchid fees are published on the lists themselves, so a final bill above the headline price is normal, not a surprise.
One figure we deliberately do not print: the ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance's own fees appeared in search results and secondary pages during our research, but we could not open the official ASPCA page to verify them, so they are marked unverified and left out. That is the same rule applied everywhere on this site.
